Auto
By default the layout follows the file and the tool: CAD files get CAD controls, Gaussian splats get Smooth Orbit, everything else Orbit.

Changing it
The switcher on the canvas changes the layout for this visit only. To keep a layout everywhere, choose it in Settings under Scene. Custom lets you set each mouse button and the damping yourself.
