About This Tool

This tool mirrors 3D models along the X, Y, and Z axes directly in your browser. It supports STL, OBJ, GLB, and other common formats. After mirroring, face orientation is automatically corrected to ensure the exported model is valid. Ideal for creating symmetric parts or flipping models. All processing happens locally, so your files never leave your device.

Tips

  • 1Supports STL, OBJ, GLB, and other formats.
  • 2After mirroring, preview the model to ensure the orientation is correct.
  • 3Processed locally, files are not uploaded, safe and reliable.

About Configuration Options

General Settings

Transform Application

DefaultModify root node

Choose how the transform is applied to the model: by modifying vertices (baked into geometry data) or by modifying the root node transform. Modifying vertices rewrites all vertex coordinates and applies consistently to every export format; modifying the root node keeps the original vertex coordinates, which is friendlier to animated, skinned, or geometry-sensitive workflows. Root node transform is the recommended default.

Modify vertices

The transform is written into all vertex coordinates, rewriting geometry data; applies consistently to every export format.

Modify root nodeRecommended

The transform is written to the root node (position/scale/rotation) while vertex coordinates stay unchanged; friendlier to animated or skinned models, but formats that ignore node transforms (such as STEP) won't apply it. Recommended default.

About this tool

Q

What if the face orientation is wrong after mirroring?

A

This tool automatically corrects face orientation to ensure the exported model is correct. If issues persist, try mirroring again or use another model repair tool.

Q

What 3D formats are supported?

A

Supports common formats such as STL, OBJ, GLB, PLY, and retains material and texture information (if applicable).

Q

Does mirroring affect the model size?

A

No, mirroring only changes the model's orientation, keeping the original size and proportions unchanged.

Q

Can I mirror multiple axes at the same time?

A

Currently, only one axis can be mirrored at a time. For multi-axis mirroring, you can perform the operation multiple times.

Q

Can I create a mirrored pair (e.g., left and right shells) with this tool?

A

The tool mirrors the model in place. It does not create a copy. To get both halves, export the mirrored result and combine it with the original in your slicer or CAD software.

Q

Does mirroring reverse text or asymmetrical details?

A

Yes. Mirroring flips handedness, so text, logos, and one-sided details appear reversed in the result. Preview before exporting, and mirror the side you want to be the opposite hand.

General questions

Q

Is Any3D completely free?

A

Yes, Any3D's core features are free to use forever. We provide format conversion, model optimization, and online preview at no cost, with no registration required.

Q

Are my files uploaded to your servers?

A

No. Files you select are processed only in your browser on this device, so they never leave your device and are never sent to our servers. We don't store any user files; after processing, related data in browser memory is released.

Q

Do I need to install software?

A

No installation required. Any3D is entirely browser-based; just open the webpage to use all features. It works on Windows, Mac, Linux, and other major operating systems.

Q

Is there a file size limit?

A

The processing capacity depends on your device performance and the model's vertex count and texture complexity, rather than file size alone. We impose no file size limit, but when a model exceeds what your device can handle, the page may lag or even crash.
