Frequently Asked Questions

View all FAQs

About this tool

Q

Can I use this for product mockup images?

A

Yes. Multi-view layouts, solid or transparent backgrounds, and watermarks work well for e-commerce, documentation, and quote previews. This is a real-time viewport screenshot, not studio offline rendering or AI image generation.

Q

What 3D formats are supported?

A

The main tool accepts common formats such as GLB, GLTF, OBJ, FBX, STL, 3MF, STEP/STP, and PLY. For a single format, you can also open the matching format-to-image page.

Q

Does it support turntable animation or video export?

A

It focuses on static multi-view screenshots. Rotate the model and export multiple times, or use horizontal, vertical, or custom multi-viewport layouts to capture front, side, top, and perspective at once. It does not export turntable GIF/video.

Q

How should I choose resolution and image format?

A

Export at 1×, 2×, or 4× as PNG, JPG, or WebP. Choose PNG/WebP for transparency or compositing; JPG for smaller files without alpha. Higher scales suit print and large screens but use more device memory and time.

Q

Why does the same model look different depending on the file format?

A

Each format carries different data: STL has no colors, STEP/STP are tessellated on the fly, FBX often needs external textures, while GLB and 3MF usually embed colors and materials. The image reflects what the file actually contains.

Q

Can I add a watermark or logo to the exported image?

A

Yes. Enable the watermark, enter text and/or upload an icon, and set its position, size, and opacity. The watermark is baked into the exported PNG, JPG, or WebP file.

General questions

Q

Is Any3D completely free?

A

Yes, Any3D's core features are free to use forever. We provide format conversion, model optimization, and online preview at no cost, with no registration required.

Q

Are my files uploaded to your servers?

A

No. Files you select are processed only in your browser on this device, so they never leave your device and are never sent to our servers. We don't store any user files; after processing, related data in browser memory is released.

Q

Do I need to install software?

A

No installation required. Any3D is entirely browser-based; just open the webpage to use all features. It works on Windows, Mac, Linux, and other major operating systems.

Q

Is there a file size limit?

A

The processing capacity depends on your device performance and the model's vertex count and texture complexity, rather than file size alone. We impose no file size limit, but when a model exceeds what your device can handle, the page may lag or even crash.
