Description:
WebP is a modern image format developed by Google, supporting both lossy and lossless compression as well as an alpha channel. Under the same visual quality, file sizes are typically 25-35% smaller than JPEG or PNG, making it a mainstream choice for web performance optimization. WebP browser compatibility is now very mature, but it may still not be supported in older systems and some professional software. When used as a 3D texture or input for image-to-3D conversion, its performance is comparable to PNG; just be aware of compression artifacts in lossy mode.

Description:
3MF is a modern 3D printing format from the 3MF Consortium, based on XML and packaged as a ZIP container. It preserves mesh data and supports per-part color, material, texture, and print properties. It is recommended for multi-color and multi-material printing. Major slicers (Bambu Studio, PrusaSlicer, OrcaSlicer) have native support. Compared to STL, 3MF carries richer information but is more complex. Some older slicers and printers may not recognize it. When converting from other formats, color and material mapping depend on source data. For simple single-color printing, STL remains sufficient. For multi-color, multi-material, or print parameter transfer, choose 3MF.

Yes. Lossless WebP keeps exact colors and sharp edges, the better choice for solid-color logos and badges. Lossy WebP is smaller but can add slight color noise, which becomes visible as uneven color regions after the colors are baked into the 3MF; for photos either variant works.

Why does my badge show multiple shades where the original had one flat color?

A

Lossy compression introduces slight color variation, and similar tones are grouped into separate color regions during conversion. Export the source as a lossless WebP (or PNG) with a single flat fill for uniform color areas.
