About This Tool

This tool measures the solid volume of your 3D model in the browser, then estimates material weight and cost from density, infill, supports and your material price. Print time is a heuristic based on volume and layer height.

How accurate is the cost estimate?

A

Volume is computed from mesh geometry. Material usage multiplies volume by density and infill. Real slicer results vary with wall count, top/bottom layers and travel moves — treat this as a planning estimate.

Which units does the calculator use?

A

When the file embeds a unit (e.g. 3MF), that unit is used. Otherwise the tool assumes 1 model unit = 1 mm, which matches most STL exports for printing.

Does support material affect the cost?

A

Yes. Enabling supports adds about 20% extra material as a rough allowance. Your slicer’s actual support volume may differ.

Is my model uploaded to a server?

A

No. Volume analysis and cost math run entirely in your browser. Files never leave your device.

The processing capacity depends on your device performance and the model's vertex count and texture complexity, rather than file size alone. We impose no file size limit, but when a model exceeds what your device can handle, the page may lag or even crash.
