VRML

Extensions: vrml, wrl1 tools

VRML (Virtual Reality Modeling Language) was an early standard from the 1990s for Web 3D interaction, pioneering online 3D scenes. It was later replaced by formats like X3D and glTF. Its text format can still be recognized by some classic software.

VRML's rendering capabilities are significantly behind modern engines. Native browser support has largely disappeared, and existing files are mostly from old projects and museum-grade archives. It is recommended to convert to modern formats like GLB before use.
