VTK
Extensions: vtk1 tools
VTK (Visualization Toolkit) is a classic data format in the fields of scientific computing and medical visualization, supporting multiple types such as structured grids, unstructured grids, and image data. It is widely used for visualizing results from fluid simulation, medical imaging (CT/MRI), and engineering analysis.
VTK is oriented toward scientific data rather than artistic assets: it records field data and topology, so entering a game or Web rendering pipeline directly requires conversion to a common mesh. Scalar and vector attributes may be lost during conversion, so it is recommended to keep the original VTK file as well.
